North Reading Historical Society's 15th Annual Apple Festival

Saturday September 26, 2009
rain date Sunday, September 27, 2009

10am - 3pm
on the Putnam House grounds
27 Bow Street

Come for a great fall Saturday event that attracts hundreds each year. The Festival includes an apple pie contest, Historical Society merchandise, local entertainment, children’s games and pony rides. There is also a silent art auction, art raffle, apple pie and ice cream, and food and drink.

This year, the Minit and Militia plan to complete the rebuilding the Sgt. Flint House on the Putnam House grounds. This one and a half story house was originally built in the 1600’s. Along with Putnam House and Barn and the West Village Schoolhouse, it will also be open for public visits at the festival.

The North Reading Historical and Antiquarian Society is looking for crafters and vendors.
We are also looking for original art for the benefit Art Drawing and Silent Art Auction.

The Rev. Daniel Putnam house and Barn have been repaired and renovated by the Historical Society, most recently the installation of new cellar stairs. In the near future, more work needs to be done, such as exterior painting, pest control. barn siding repairs and the repair of the chimney.
Artists who would care to donate to a good cause may contact the Historical Society.
Participation by the public in the Art drawing or the Silent Auction makes these renovations possible.
